I wanted to know if any one knew the differences between using ITR cams over CTR cams in a gsr? which would be more reliable and produce the most power? bottom line which is better ???should i also replace springs and retainers ?

They are about the same.
01 ITR cams are about the same as the newer CTR cams. The lift and duration might be slightly to the advantage of the CTR. Yes, it's recommended that you replace the springs and retainers. At least move the GSR Intake springs to the exhaust side, and replace all of the intake side.
