cams for a basic setup
hello all, i have a 1994 integra ls with the basic i/h/e setup. i am looking into buying some cams for my engine so i was wondering what companies were quality and do i have to add other stuff for them to function right? can i just drop them into the engine? replies would be much appreciated
skunk 2 has some good camshafts, and depending on what you get, you should also get springs and retainers to go with them, but if you get the stage 1s, then it isn't necessary, just go to their site.
If you were to just put any aftermarket cams in your engine they aren't going to do a thing for it.
What will you use to tune?
My advice, with just an I/H/E on your car, I wouldn't bother with a set of cams. You're better off saving for an engine management system now if you wish to continue to mod your car.

im in the same boat, but with a 97 GSR (DD).
what about if i did that along with the cams, springs, retainers, converted to OBD1, and tuned. is that ok to do without doing the bottom end?
my buddy is a mechanic and he wants to do a total rebuild because he probably loves my car as much as i do, lol. I dont have the cash to do a rebuild and i dont need that much more power (i am happy with what i have, the extra power will be the icing the on the cake).

if that's all you want to do go with itr/ctr cams. anything bigger is really going to want more compression.
