Re: Which cams??? (TeamTooQuick)
well from what ive heard, and what i want to do, the stage 1's are a better bang for the buck. you can use youre stock vavles/springs/retainers where as the 2's youll need a stronger valve train. that and i think youll have to get your ecu rechipped if you get the 2's to take full advantage of the cams.

if u got the stage 2's they wouldn't be taken advantage of unless u upped the compression by getting higher cr pistons such as ctr's (somewhere along the lines of 11.3:1) and a strong valvetrain just like the other guy said. i would go with itr's if not the stage 2s

For now you're going to want the Stage 1's, but if you want some more power in the long run, get the stage 2's.
As far as taking full advantage of the cams...., you are going to have to buy the same stuff for both stages. For stage 1 you don't want to stick with the stock rev limiter. You're going to want to raise it....to raise it you need the valve springs, retainers, ecu, tuning etc.etc...etc...Bigger cams like to have high compression, but thats only required to take full potential for them.. Nonetheless you will still see gains. The stage 2's make more peak power and have a better power band up top if tuned correctly. However, stage 1's will pass smog and stage 2's will NOT pass smog. Smog IMO isn't a big deal. Just to be on the safe side, i'd stick my stock cams back in anyways.
