Maybe it's a problem with your cams?? Maybe you've got a bad lobe, regrinds are notorious for having at least 1 shitty lobe on them, and that's all it takes. I wouldn't recommend rocking out the VTEC until you find out what's going on, you could do some serious valvetrain damage.

Another factor maybe a bad VTEC solenoid?? It could be sending misinformation to your ECU, throwing the timing off or getting a bad fuel? Maybe a mix of both.

I'd pull your shafts out and give them a look over. Just a suggestion, hope it helps.

The same exact thing happens with my car. It happens randomly. Sometimes it does it sometimes it doesn't. It makes me glad to hear that someone else has the same problem, doesn't make the situation any better but if it makes you feel better the same thing happens to my car. Don't have any idea how to fix it.

Well VTEC doesn't equate to instant speed. You can hear the cams switch over because the lift and duration are worlds apart from the low-lift/low-duration mild cams that it runs on normally.

As much of an advantage that VTEC presents over cars with standard cams, it's not the cure-all-wonder-drug in the engineworld. You can have the hottest cams ever, but it's still on a 1.8 engine. VTEC is nice, but it doesn't equate to turbo or forced induction, so you're going to have to look the reaper right in the eyes and rev it past the 6500 mark in order to feel any sort of torque or hp.

GSR = Pinto in low rpms.

Screaming demon box of death past 7k.

yes, this is all old news to me. honda's in general have no torque what so ever and make all their power @ high rpms's i think everyone knows this nowa days.. but even so, usually when vtec does engage it pulls alot harder especially with beefier cams.. but what im saying is yea you hear the vtec cross over point and the car goes absolutely no where.. like it wasnt engaging at all... i have the same exacty set-up in my car but with civic type r cams but didnt have this problem, let alone in any of my other cars which all have vtec motors.... this is why i made the post to see if anyone has had or has this problem.
