1st LSVTEC....(omniman chime in)
Hey guys, I'm well aware that omniman built the first LSVTEC motor, and I'M NOT ASKING HOW TO BUILD ONE, but I was hoping to find out more about how he constructed it....as far as research and developement. I also just read that the actual motor is still running today. What car is it running in?
Basically I'm asking omniman if he wouldn't mind sharing the story about creating the LSVTEC. Thanks.........

I remember Omniman doing ls/vtec a long time ago. When i was at Pyr he faxed us directions on how to do ls/vtec we laughed so hard at the time he was in Colorado we didnt believe him for a second well one day he came down in a integra gsr that belonged to his customer and we he popped the hood surely it was a vtec head on a ls block. We asked him how did you get the idea to do this and he answered "I blew up my customers gsr motor and i needed to make up for it so i did my homework I didnt want to pay for a expensive gsr motor" This was back in the days when Tony Shagday was walking around selling field vtec controllers at Sacremento raceway and skunkworks was supposedly road racing the integra. But regardless of what alot of other people will say ill vouch for him he was the FIRST! the motor still running today or not i dont knoe youll have to wait for him to answer that one.
May I add that it was also the fastest all motor integra ive ever seen at the time he also borught it to the street races in long bch where he raced a friend of mine that ran 12.80s they were neck and neck. Omniman to remind you of that race it was Joe from pyr.

Great! I can't wait to hear this. Indeed , US Honda history at its finest. Keep us posted as soon as you can. Thanks omni, Happy New Year to you as well.
yea that was a hell of a race very close... To refresh your memory Steve this is Anthony the guy that had the red CRX that used to always hit you up to race when you had the Omni... As far as Joe hes now a family man but I do talk to him and hes thinking about coming back and he says Hi also he also admired your work with the Stink2 integra and so did I.

well, when it comes to innovation skunkworks also had a B16a back than displacing well over 1.8L (approx 1835) because it was stroked out, and they had solely developed that themselves. That engine was being used in the beta Integra ('95 Integra) - silver. I think that set-up was able to do 11-12's (stock computer with the Field SFC, not purchased from Tony...hahaha). The initial run in full road race set-up (toyo Proxes t1's/cage/AP Racing brakes, etc) was a 13.6 before the clutch went out.
