Break lights dont work with headlights on
Whats up guys, i just bought a 1998 integra and my problem is that when my headlights are off my break lights work but when i turn on my headlights the break lights dont work.
Theyre not the stock break lights so im guessing the last owner might of wired something wrong.
i checked the break switch and it was not it, i checked fuse not it, i checked the bulbs and theyre good, so thats what brings me back to the rewiring of the lights.
any help works i appreciate it thanks guys.

Do they all not work, or does the high mount stop lamp still work?
Generally the aftermarket is plug-and-play, but your issue sounds like it may be a bad ground.
If you have a bad ground, what you might see is the brake lights work because it is using the parking lights circuit to look for a ground. Then when you turn the lights on and step on the brakes, you have power on both sides of the filament, therefore, no brake lights.
I would say clean the sockets and check for ground...

I am also guessing a grounding problem it is the only thing common between the brake lights and the head lights, [tail lights].
Do you still have a problem if you only turn on the park lights?
If so, check the tail light ground. 94
