Brake system problem
My brakes are acting up on me x.x my front brakes are "staying on" slightly with normal driving. I know the gasket on the top of the master cylinder is bad but would it cause this problem? or do you guys think both of my front brake calipers are sticking? I have taken both calipers apart and they seem fine.
The only thing that gasket on the master cylinder would casue, is a weak pedal.
If the breaks are "staying on" my guess would be grease the hell out of your cailper pins.

hmmm I did grease the hell out of them but I'm starting to think it's the piston itself. but before I get to it would bad nasty brake fluid cause this problem? maybe if it got moisture or over heated..
have u tried rebuilding your caliper? if u have a compressor, or can get to a compressor, take ur caliper off the car and put the air nozzle to the fluid inlet on the caliper and give it some air. the piston will pop out so dont point it at ur face. clean out the the dirt and stuff out of the piston wall and the piston itself. lightly grease the the inside of the caliper and piston and press the piston back in the caliper with a C clamp, put the dust boot back on the piston. reinstall and if that doesnt fix it then post it up and ill find out for u.

That is exactly why I asked him if he had an air compressor.

I had the same problems with my rear calipers. My acura Integra has about 150,000 miles on it. I thought the calipers were ****, but it was just the brake fluid. You really have to bleed it all out. Use 30% rubbing alcohol. First open all the bleeders and pump out the old brake fluid. Then fill up the master cylinder with the alcohol solution and then pump your brakes. Let the solution out of your system. and then flush it again with brake fluid. Then close the bleeder screws and fill up with brake fluid and start the bleeding the air out one Bleeder screw at a time.
This worked for me.
If you doubting the calipers, pull on of them off and have someone pump the brake and check to see if the piston comes out.
If the master cylinder is fucked then you will have a weak pedal like on of the guys mentioned.

You Dont Have To Have A Air Compressor To Do A Caliper Rebuild, Just Disconnect The Caliper From The Rotor Plate Leave The Line Connected, Push On The Brake Untill The Piston Pops Out, Then Take Channel Locks And Pinch The Line Together, Take Some Fine Or Medim Emery Cloth Clean It Up As well As The Piston Wall, You Can Get New Seals From Autozone Or Pepboys For About 5 Bucks, There is One Smaller Seal For The Inside And A Bigger One For the Lip Of the Piston, Just Rebuilt My Front Calipers On A '96 Gs-R And No More Dragging My Brakes, Only Took A Couple Of Hours Douing The Install in my Parking garage(No Room), And Make Sure To Use BRAKE GREASE! it Has Pieces Of Aluminum In It Different From Any Other Grease, And Grease The Hell Out Of The Caliper Slide Bolts. Good Luck
Sooo I bought a rebuilt caliper from autozone and put it on. Also bled the brakes.
Same problem.
anything else it could be? I know it's the left side for sure when jacked up it's hard to turn the wheel by hand. all others spin fine.

your brake line is collapsed inside and acting like a flap keeping you calipers pushed out. if u replaced the caliper already do the hose next and bleed again . sometimes it doesnt hurt to replace the hose along with a caliper.
yup. new caliper and new lines. that should do it. and if it doesnt, then you have a pinched hard line. thats a bitch to fix. but usually doesnt happen.
