brake noises
sorry if this is a repost..but i cant seem to find my old thread.
recently..my front brakes have been making noises...
only when rolling..
when im off the brake pedal and rolling, it makes this screeching sound
but once i put pressure on the brake pedal, the noise goes away..
i was thinkin that i needed to change my pads and stuff...
bu can it be anything more?
i just ordered some new front rotors and brake pads...
anything else i should be informed about?

+1 for the wear indicator....its always a good idea to atleast machine the rotors within spec when replacing the pads, but i would personally just buy a decent set for around 50 bucks. on a side note, i wouldn't worry too much about your rotors being warped as this condition usually results in a pulsating of the sterring wheel when the brakes are applied. since you didn't state this as an issue, your pads are the main concern but do it right and replace the rotors as well.

It's been known to happen but on a rare case. For the average joe, this usually means he's hitting the metal tabs aka change pads soon indicator as every one else has been saying.
Mine was doing it one day but it was after I was parked outside for 2 weeks (driving her of course) and I thought the weather might of affected it, turns out when I took the wheels off, it was in fact the indicator piece against my rotor.
Time for some Hawk pads!

If you wait too long to change the pads after the wear indicator hits, you can start to wear the rotor on the backing plates, so don't wait too long or you will need new rotors if they can't be machined within specs.
ok..i already placed my order for new rotors and pads...
will be comming dec 7th..
but unfortunately....this is the only car i got...so i gotta drive it tll the 7th...then change em out
