boosted integra idle but boggs out
hi guys im new to the honda and acura motors i have a boosted b18a1 that i just put new piston rings in i got it put back together got it timed perfectly and it will start and idle but once i give it the gas it chokes out on me it was obdo converted to obd1 the guy i put the car from did all the work to it so know i cant git the thing to run right any suggestion on what might be wrong would be greatly appreciated thanx
^^ is it? It could be many things, first thing I would do is check for a boost leak, clean the IACV/FITV, check valve timing, ignition timing again.
And also I would do a valve lash adjustment, change the belts, vc gasket, fuel filter, run some seafoam/injector cleaner through it. Just normal stuff to keep the motor healthy, since you aren't the one that did the work, you don't know how well maintained it was/wasn't.

it run awsome it just smokedso i pulled the head and droped the pan changed the rings and timed it like 5 freakin times now when i start it up it idleing rough should i take the computer to someone and have them look at it the guyi bought the car from said its tuned
so i think ive narrowed it down to something on the throttle body it starts fine idles good but once i give it the gas its shutting down so im going to change the sensors on top and see if that helps any chance any one know what there all called i only know of the idle positioning sensor there 2 more i dont know the name of oh it doesnt bog down tell i hit 3 grand on the rpms
What's with the run on sentences man? I get a headache reading and trying to figure out what you are saying. Is there a CEL? There is no reason to change a sensor out without it being faulty.
Did you switch the map and tps connectors around?

oh sorry about the run on sentences. So its not the sensor. i dont know whats wrong with it. like i said its idling perfect but every time i give it just a little gas it bogs out.im just so stumped. never had the problem with my eclipse and it was turboed. maybe i just need to pull it to a shop
sounds like the tps and map connectors are backwards. as stated, try switching them around
edit: on second thought, it would be pretty difficult to get them mixed up, as non obd has the map on the firewall

no didn't dissemble it. left the throttle body on the head when i swapped the rings.i wonder if its the computer. the guy i bought it from said he converted it from obd0 to obd1. but i dont understand it ran fine before i changed the rings. and im positive i did everything right.
you were right shes running like a champ nowthanx for all the help guys
yeah it was the connectors. now i got a new problem.the car has a rev limiter at 4 grand when its not in gear.but now when its in gear it wont go over 4 grand i think i need to get the computer checked.
