the ebay turbo kits are complete pieces of garbage.
you cant cheap out when it comes to something as important as a turbo.
do a search for the brand, or even ebay turbo, and youll see what I mean.. nobody likes them.

I am using an Ebay kit that came with the following:
FMIC
Turbo
Downpipe
Charge Piping
Manifold
Wastegate

but I upgraded the wastegate to a Tial, I have had no problems with mine yet and have put about 1k -2k miles on the setup with no problems. I actually just went to the dyno and was impressed by the numbers. 275whp/233wtq @ 8psi

Its just a matter of hit or miss when it comes to ebay stuff I guess.

with hundreds of dollars I don't think I'd like to play the hit or miss game....

There are a few parts from EBAY that have some merit...I have one of their FMIC's and WG's, the WG is iffy, inspect it before you use it...Make sure the diaphragm is good and test it to make sure it opens...The BOV is ok, I had to cut the spring in it, but for 30 bucks I can't complain...The Turbo's are hit or miss...I've seen the seals go in them and smoke like an old train from an average amount of oil pressure (A good turbo wouldnt have failed in the same condition)...But I've also seen them last with little problems. The good news?? When it craps out on you , you can send it off to Blaast and they'll completely rebuild that chinese turbo with ALL GARRETT PARTS for 250 bucks...Not a bad deal. The turbo manifolds?? Stay away...

I would stay away from ebay kits and do it right the 1st time. Probably save you more money in the long run.

certain parts have merit...no reason to spend 3x as much for a BOV

Yeah, the wastegate that came with it it identical to a tial one so all i needed to do was replace the spring with a good tial spring and fix the problem that they have with boost creep. And I personally think that most intercoolers on ebay are just fine. But the turbos are a big thing when it comes to hit or miss. I buddy bought a turbo from ebay NIB and the seals were already bad it was a greddy replica. It only cost him 275 and he bought a t3/t4 seal kit and now its fine for almost a year and a fraction of the cost of a genuine one.

people are going to continuously argue this, what it comes down to is that all those parts are junk period, there are a few that come out working great... but its a chance so if you like gambling with possible junk that doesnt work/fit properly and enjoy wasting time dicking around with shitty parts go ahead save some money, on the other hand you could do it right the first time and save yourself the headache the choice is your own

although i am not a fan of ebay kits BASED UPON REVIEWS..... i cannot say anything negative about the ebay turbo kits as i only will offer an opinion if it is something i personally tried/used, and i have not tried any of those kits

however, i wonder how many people who talk all this **** about ebay kits have actually purchased and used them....or is it just a bias because the word ebay is involved?

i couldn't care less about these kits, and personally am a big believer in "you get what you pay for"....but it would be interesting to see how many of these naysayers have actually had an"ebay turbo kit" at one point in there life

i bought the turbo and manifold, cuz my turbonetics turbo bearings went out. but i sent it to get rebuilt instead and traded the ebay ones for an ls block, rod bearings, and piston rings.

most of them that go OMG EBAY NO, haven't used any of the products...But when one moron gets on the soap box about you get what you pay for, everyone follows suit without any actual experience....It also stems from the immense amount of idiots that purchase the parts...They dont install oil restrictors, blow the seals and go OMG EBAY NO!!!...When in reality it would have even destroyed a Genuine Garrett because of what they did...A lot of EBAY products cut costs by cutting some quality control...So know that, dont be a noob, and do your own quality control. Judge how important a certain component is to the whole system, and how much error can occur in making it...Most people dont even know how a WG or BOV works, if they did they'd shut up...A turbo has a lot of components and has to be balanced, a lot can go wrong there, a manifold has tons of torsion on it as well as shear stress, know that and understand bracing and why certain ones you can automatically mark off from just design alone... If youre a noob trying to turbo your car, then fine, dont cut corners, let Tial do your work for you...No problems with that, but if you know a thing or two, you can save money

save your money for something more reliable. ebay is really only good for buying parts that you cant find somewhere else or want them used not to get no name parts. especially when it comes to turbos you dont wanna buy those cheap *** kits. buy cheap *** wheels etc, but dont buy a cheap *** turbo. it puts too much strain on your car to take a risk with a kit that most likely will be garbage.

certain people have had decent luck with the Ebay kits, but personally i wouldnt want to risk it...you may get a cheap turbo setup OR you might just lose $800.

If you're going to boost, do it right...dont buy cheap ****
