Boost???
Ok i have a 93 integra rs. It has been rebuilt to stock, has 4-2-1 header and exhaust, cold air. I want more power!! I want to boost but dont really know much about it. Could i go turbo on a stock ls? Will it be reliable? How much would a nice used kit cost? Not really looking to spend a whole lot of money....So should i go boost or not? Or maybe ls/vtec? All help is appriciated
Just a reminder that going Turbo is not cheap. You need to consider other factors besides the cost of a Turbo kit, such as clutch wear, radiator fans, fuel management, dyno tuning, new parts in case things break, etc. You also need to be careful buying a used Turbo kit. The Turbo could have shaft-play, the turbo manifold could have small cracks at the welds, the wastegate might not function correctly, etc.
naw bro dont go turbo unless u got the money for it. ls/vtec is not good at all becuase its not reliable. just get a gsr engine or if u dont have the money for that get a b16 engine. me personally id get a gsr engine cause the b16 doesnt have torque at all. bump
LS/VTEC can be reliable if it's done right. I have seen some really good LS/VTEC setups at some of the H-T meets. The problem is people think you can slap on a VTEC head and everything will be fine. Those are the people that end up with overheating problems. There are kits available for people who want to do it the better way such as the Golden Eagle conversion kit.

Speed doesnt come cheap, cheapest way out is NOS, if you only want to go fast when your racing i would go with a low shot of nos, 50 or 60 shot. However, its not the best for your internals, if you want power like that all the time i would go boost. it is expensive, but no other modifications are needed. don't buy a used kit, your asking for problems, suck it up buy it new , if you look around you could get one for like 2000, new on ebay, 1000 for install and your spoolin, run it off the wastegate, which is like 6 or 7 pounds of boost, and be happy. if you try and run more boost , you'll hurt the lonjevity of your stock engine. immediate 65-70 hp to the wheels, stock b16 and stock gsr, both with 7 psi dyno between 215-230 to the wheels depending on size of turbo, ft pounds of torque are a little higher in the gsr because 1.8 liter. To gain 65-70 hp to the wheels all motor, is a serious engine building process. quick summary, high comp pistons, rods, upgraded cams, i/h/e, E-management upgraded valve train, port and polished head, 3 angle valve job, clutch, flywheel, cam gears, pulleys, pretty much every internal and bolt on upgrade possible, to even acomplish 200hp to the wheels. Depending on which motor you have to start with.
