Bogging issue...
Sup, guys. I just finished a motor swap (another b18b) on my boy's 94 LS this weekend. The new motor has 74K on the clock. Here's what I replaced when I had it on the stand:
OEM:
timing belt
water pump
dist cap
rotor button
dist wires
NGK plugs
alt and p/s belts
Mods he was running on old motor before swap:
AEM short intake
skunk2 cat-back
The car runs excellent and pulls hard on top, but bogs really bad under 3000 rpm, especially going uphill. This happens between 3000 and 5000 (also on takeoff around 1500 on up), but from there after 5000, it gets real strong. Looking for ideas on what may cause this, or what to check on. Your help is appreciated, guys.

Cams and crank are TDC, havent checked ignition timing yet, I know how to set it on an F series with a light and through the hole in the block, but never done it before on a B series, thats the next thing I was gonna ask about. Point me in the right direction on getting it checked and properly set. Im also gonna change the fuel filter today also, I had left that out on my TO DO list.
its not throwing a code?
it sounds like its running lean from what u said or the timming is too far advanced...
is there anything else we should know?????????
what are the complete mods on this car dont leave anything out.

No codes thrown. And yeah, one more mod...hi-flow MagnaFlow cat, left that out
. Those are the only three. Everything else on the car besides that, the intake and exhaust are bone stock.
The way the dist is positioned, its advanced a little from the center slot, but I dont know how much. Need to get that manual.

i have the same problem, i have to heat up my car till it gets to the middle of the temp gauge. then after that it run strong and fine. i bogg at 1500-3000rpm when the engine is cold. it might be the timing cuhz i didnt check my timing with the timing light yet. oh ya my car heats up way to long 10-15min? is that normal?

Fixed it today. Pulled valve cover, checked gears, found he jumped one tooth. Reset cam and crank timing, had to retard ignition timing, was way too advanced (finally found out how, lol!), now he's all set. Thanks, guys.
