bleeding brake, what sequence?
im about to bleed my brakes to flush out the old brake fluid. i have a 2001 gsr and im not sure whats the correct sequence to bleed the brakes. which brake do i start on and go from there?
um, my haynes and helms manual begs to differ
right rear

right front
i know everyone says farthest away to closest, but that is not what is in the manuals.
hope this helps

exuse me
I am telling you what the Helms manual says on how to bleed the brake system, as well as the Haynes manual
That is the correct way to do it and that is the way that i bleed the brakes.
If you dont believe me then look it up, it seems to me u r just looking for an exuse to jack off, so bash on someone else!

This is the order I now use, when I had my 2000 GSR I always did it the way Kendall says (farthest from the Master Cylinder to the closest). I now have a 1992 LS, and I use the diagonal pattern that KGsITR stated - the Helms manual for 1990-1997 does state that order, evidently because of the routing of the brake lines in diagonal 'circuits' if you will.
So, with no further namecalling by anyone, this is the order you should do it, according to Haynes:
IF YOU HAVE A 94-97 Integra: right rear, left front, left rear, right front
IF YOU HAVE A 98+ Integra: left front, right front, right rear, left rear (I really don't know why they say to do it this way, because I always worked my way from the rear to the front in my Integra with ABS, It could be because it will be easier to do a flush this way because the first caliper you do will be closer to the MC, so fluid will not have to travel as far).
My 92 Helms says the same thing as the 94-97 instructions, and my recollection is they changed the braking system design in 98, so that would explain the difference in order between the 2 years.

I actually use the sequence I stated earlier based on some performance testing I once did. I used to use the Haynes/Helms recommended sequence, but one day I decided to do some testing. I vacuum bled the brakes with 100% new fluid according to the manual and came up with 129 ft average stopping distance from 60 in my Hatchback (ITR brakes front and rear, 17/25 proportioning valve, OEM pads and rotors, ES100 tires) which was pretty good considering the tires. I then vacuum bled the system using the aforementioned bleeding sequence and upon retesting came up with an average stopping distance of 124 feet.

I dont get it. u saying that you dont even like me, and yet u have no idea who i am
and for the part of never bleeding brakes before, i have had plenty of experience with that. unless you know everything about me and my experience with cars, i suggest posting only valuable info on the bleeding in this thread, not trying to make others look bad

no difference.
now i know someone is going to say something else about this, but:
those are the instructions for non ABS brakes. The book says that you should not bleed ur ABS brakes yourself, but take it to a shop where they have special tools to work on ABS parts, not normally found at home or whatever..
But that is bull. we do them no differently in the shop and there is no difference in the procedure. and for the tools, i have never seen any special tools needed to bleed the brakes, unless its talking about doing something with the ABS motor or someting
anyway, super easy to do, use the same sequence
Good luck

do it both ways. the first time furthiest to closeist. then do the whole "X" thingy.
either way, the air still gets out.
oh yeah, if you never bleed brakes before then just remember to use a "flare wrench" for the fitting. it will help not to strip the fitting. and dont get any fluid on the paint because it will eat the paint.
good luck,
steve

what are you like 12? that is one of the most rediculous cutdowns i have ever read. As a matter of a fact i dont even think that is a cutdown thats just imbarrising on your part that you even put that. Are you a real person?! Honestly if i were you i would probably think about throwing up the white flag. Just because you are a donkey whos parents never loved them doesnt mean you need to go thread to thread beating on peoples GOOD advice. So i would expect a cornhole like you would have better things to do like beating off to gay ****.
