battery problem
last week i noticed my ground wire that is connected to the valve cover and frame was off so i decided to just take the wire out. couple days after i cant start my car when its hot out. i would need to jump start it everytime. it would start in the mornings just fine because temperatures are around 60 degrees. my battery would die so quick and im not quite sure whats happening..
i see that some people dont even use that ground wire and they dont have any trouble starting their cars.
my question is that do i really need that wire? or what else can it be?
i can play music and such but every time i turn the key all the way.. my clock light seems to dim..
please help. school is starting soon and i dont wanna be stranded or asking everyday for a jump start

my friend is missing that ground in his gsr and his car runs perfectly fine.
im not sure but i dont see why that one ground could cause this much of a problem. why not just connect it back? unless youve already tried that and its still not working...

could you explain in more depth of why its important instead of just using that as an excuse as to why you had problems with your car?

well actually after he bought his car i took a look under his hood and realized he was missing it.
assuming every other ground is connected, missing one ground should not cause $500+ worth of damages to your car.

ive been driving without a ground for about 20k miles and thats when i bought the car. it was off when i bought it so im assuming there were many more miles put on it.
my friend with his b16 swapped civic is missing his valve cover ground. 50k+ miles later? still running strong

there is a possiblity that the ground was relocated, but here lemme tell you what it can damage, your map sensor, your main fuel relay in turn messes up your fuel pump, it can also damage your ecu the ground is there for a reason, dont mess with it
every ground is supposed to be connected that is true but the point im trying to make is having one that is not connected shouldnt be completely disastrous.
now it would also depend WHICH ground is missing and the OP clearly states:
"last week i noticed my ground wire that is connected to the valve cover and frame was off so i decided to just take the wire out. "
could the ground be his problem? yes. will it become a big enough problem for him to practically commit suicide? i doubt it.

Regardless of the size of the problem, dont we all want to avoid car trouble? maybe thats jsut me... but I like getting in my car knowing it will start, or take me across the country if thats what I soooo desire.

just got my battery charged at kragens and they said it was very weak. imma try to put it back on and see what happens. i already put my ground back on and already tried starting it an hour ago but still did not start.
came to 3 conclusions
battery
alternator
ignition - replaced with a used one 6 months ago because my car was broken into and they broke my ignition.
