that stinks, if they stole it from your garage, there is a possibility I believe that homeowners insurance can cover it.

nooooooooo
where in philly are you? it is probably in camden or trenton as we speak
i will keep an eye out for it though, it would not be hard to spot. sorry to hear man.
what security did you have (other than garage) i still can't believe they broke in your garage and took all of your tools too.

Dude, what no one was home when this happened? I cannot fathom they actually got into your garage, stole your car, tools, etc....without making a peep nor anyone seeing them. Homeowners should cover that for sure.
although I guess it's still a terrible feeling to have something stolen of so much value.....good luck, better things to come.

yep... thats what the cops told me when my window got busted(differnet scenario, I know, but I think it'd still apply) it was parked in the street and the cop was like "now was it in the driveway, or the garage when this happened or was it in the street? cause if it was in the garage or driveway homeowners insurance will cover it with a 1,000 dollar deductable but if it was in the street, they wont"
edit*** crap, didnt see that you had no homeowners insurance, im dumb for not reading all the way. sorry dude.
im really sorry about what happened, good luck with finding some of the parts, if not all.

My roommates and my girlfriend think I'm being ridiculous for using the alarm and kill switches on my car when it's parked in my locked garage (or her gated backyard). Now I have something to show them. Sorry for your loss.
Anybody that's interested in security how-to's check the site in my signature.

Inside job???
I feel your pain. This happened to me long time ago when I had my Civic. Now I have a Integra, I'm paranoid about diving it anywhere or leaving it in my drive way. Anyway, your situation sounds like it could be a inside job...someone you know but not close with. It's obvious that they waited for you to be at the party to rip you off. If they only took the car, that's one thing. But it almost seem like they knew you would be gone for a long time when they took your tools.

I requested a short story for a title.
Re: Bad ******* way to start the year....... (LLEO245)
they should have global positioning (yea kinda like they did on 2f2f) so u kno where your **** is all the time. then u can go to the exact location of where your car is and cap everyone that is involved with the theft. good luck i hope you find it

man that sucks... but now you should probably look into getting renters' insurance.
Also if you're going away from your house and have the car in the garage and want to help keep it extra safe, put padlocks on both of the garage door guide rails. There's always several holes on the rails that you can put a padlock in to help keep the door from being forced open.

Re: Bad ******* way to start the year....... (Rahxephon)
There is no other way to put that than just f"cked.... I couldnt imagine how pissed off I would be. My car is my life. If my tools got stolen out of my garage I wouldn't be fucked for tools (I'm a mechanic and have complete sets at home, and work), but still, my tools are almost as important to me as my car, because without them, my car wouldnt be MY car... I hope when you find these ***-clowns you beat them to death.
