B20 VTEC
I just put in a fresh jdm b20 in my integra but i want more power, should a b16 head and tranny with performance clutch be good and will it support redline pass 7000 rpm with stock bottom end?
you'll be fine as long as you don't beat the **** out of it everyday all day
i would recommend getting it tuned though, and pay attention to where you stop making power....if it's 7000rpms, then there's no need to rev to 8k....

B20s arent known to rev higher then 7000 unless you put mad work to it
it doesnt really matter what head you get... but if you get b16 all the type r parts fit on it... I have a ls vtec with a b16 head and i put gsr cams in it.. It works real nice 8500 shift point

I wouldnt take it past 7 with stock bottom... heres my setup and the power curve levels out at 7500 with the rev set at 8200...JDM B20B

i feel another ls/v bash coming along here.......
with shot peed rods, and new rod and head bolts it should be fine up to around 8000 at least. but like graf-fiti said if your not making power up till 8000 theres no point to go up there.

if you build it right then you shouldnt have anything to worry about, you may want a b20z block though, i think they have thicker cylinder walls.
edit: wait i think you already said you had a jdm b20, so forget about the b20z thing

well everyones gonna have different opinions on lsvtecs and crvtecs, ive seen them go up 275 hp, so they can make good power if you know what youre doing (not saying you dont)
