Usdm B18C vs Jdm B18C
Could anyone pinpoint the differences? Other then the "8 hp" gain for the JDM one?
Do they have the same compression? How come the JDM one produces 8hp more? Higher compression?

Yes, compression on the JDM motor is higher. That is mainly the cause of hp difference. I think US is like 10:1 and JDM is like 10.6:1. Something like that.

The JDM B18C does indeed have higher compression (10.6:1 vs 10.0:1). But this is certanly not 8HP worth of compression. I am not sure about cams, though. But the JDM B18C is certainly tuned more aggressively to take advantage of their better gas.

So, will all the other parts be the same when it comes to replacing worn items: belts, plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor button, etc.....
Thanks!

yep!
The compression is higher on the JDM engine, mainly because they don't have strict emissions restrictions, and they can use higher octane fuel..
