this is correct. the jdm b18c which is rated 180hp is better the the b18c1 usdm which is 170hp

not in ca. highest we get 91 as the highest

 

Use 93 then, or if you are trying to save money, you can make your own custom blend of 89 and 93 (so it averages 91). Here in CA, all of our premium unleaded gas is 91 octane. When I lived in VA, premium was 93.

If you do not use 91 or higher, your high compression GSR motor will be subject to knocking and pinging - which are signs of detonation.
