b18b head
Ok so Im taking off my b18b head to put on another one....Does anyone know anywhere I can find a how to or something on how to take off the head of my integra. I'ld rather do it myself then bring it to some garage to do it.... If anyone can help let me know. Thanks
disconnect your battery first
disconnect your intake
take off your accessory belts; powersteering, alternator, ac belt
unplug all ur sensors/vacuum lines that are connected to the head
remove your driverside tire to have easier access to your crank pully
remove your crank pully
IF you still have the intake manifold bracket (the pain in the ***) you have to remove 4 bolts holding the bracket to the block, it's a 10mm or 12mm not sure which one... i went under the car to remove em...
unbolt the 10mm nuts for your valve cover
unbolt your cam cap bolts (12mm) from the center n work your way to the edge
in sequence how i did mine:
10 5 1 3 7
9 6 2 4 8
the the last 4 10mm bolts on the driver side
before you take off the cam rails, make which one goes on top of the intake side and which one goes on the exhaust side.
you can use a flat head screw driver and CAREFULLY pry the cam caps off..
(when you put em back on there are these lil arrows the all have to point towards the cam gears, there are also lil numbers stamped on them and you'll re-install in this sequence: 4 3 2)
take all the bolts out
remove cam rails
get a 14mm i believe with an rachet & extension
remove the head studs in the same sequence you did with the cam cap bolts
10 5 1 3 7
9 6 2 4 8
after that the head should come off good luck.
make sure your motor is cold or else you'll warp the bolts
