I am trying to finish piecing this engine together and get it running. This is a B16 head on my B18C block. Can anyone tell me what that open threaded hole is in the middle of the picture, to the left of the dizzy??? Do I just plug it? I can't find it on any dealership's website :-(

 

it is the plug you take out for an ls/vtec. did you remove the pipe thread from the deck surface?

 

That's how my motor came. I haven't done anything to it. It's missing stuff. So you can verify a plug does go there? I want to know how that comes from Honda.

 

Yes, you need to plug or search for something to plug there, if you don't, you are going to have an oil party inside your engine bay

 

was just about to say that guess someone had that head for an LS/B20V. I think a bolt with lock tight would work don't quote me on that that's just what I would do.

 

It's 3/8" BSPT.

 

Also Important, hope you didn't mount the head before checking the oil pickup line under, if it was used for ls vtec before, maybe is blocked.

 

Just like the oil pressure sending unit? Could I use that oil for my turbo's oil line? Seems like it's meant to be!

 

Oil pickup line under? I thought that was on the block? I got B18C V-TEC block. The head has been bolted down with a new head gasket and arp head studs. I bought it as a long block pretty much. It's missing a lot though :-(

see the allen head in the head on the left?
If it's plugged you will never have vtec.
It's probably plugged if it was an ls/vtec setup.
