how much off a differnce is it between the 16 and the 18 block. im talking bare with nothing in them. no rods crank, nothing. is the block heigth the same from the oil pan to the deck. just wondering if i could put complete 16 insides in the 18 block. everything. just curious

 

b16/17 blocks are 8-9mm shorter than b18 blocks. b16 internals in a b18 block is just stupid.

 

aside from being stupid or not, yes you can put b16a internals in a b18a/b/c

 

B16 pistons, PR3 or P30's, mated to an LS crank and rods would be nice for NA setup in the B18 block.

Actually, the B16B (Civic Type R motor) uses a B18 block w/ a B16 crank (and longer special length rods). The advantage is a killer rod/stroke ratio and a motor that can rev to the north side of 12k.
