Axels gone bad? someone please help
Axels gone bad?
Ok I took my wheel off and when I turn my rotor with my hand( its in gear BTW) when it gets to the point where I cant turn it anymore I get a grinding click noise….. And its not coming from the rotor side its coming from the motor side.

ok out of gear now what? The clicking is not coming from the axel part is coming from the tranny I think.
could it be the throw out bearing
edit- it is still making the noise and it looks like its coming from the tranny

How loud is the clicking? Can you feel the vibration as you turn the axle? What made you take a look at this to begin with?

Well the noies started after I ran my 50 shot of nitrous( i worked my clutch hard btw) but it went away…. So I was like well I think its my axels so I was going to fix them today…….. Well when I was coming home from school I could hear it again. So I asked my buddy and he said it could be the throw-out-bearing because it only happened when I am going from a stop and let out the clutch.
Pulled of my wheel and traced the noise back to the tranny right where the axel meet up with the tranny

HMMMM. I think it could be a couple different things. What do the splines on the axle and the tranny look like? You could be missing a couple teeth on there. Could be the throw out bearing I guess. You'll have to pull the tranny off to see though. If you don't want to go through all of that, take the VSS off and run oil through the tranny to see if any metal shavings are present.

Taking my tranny of is the last thing I want to do. Do you have a pic of the VSS or can u tell me where I can find it?

From the top looking down at your motor, look behind and to the left of your motor down to the bottom. It has a cable running to it on top of your tranny
