we are talking about heads...a b16 head is a type r head....p73...learn something today didnt you...so Hype R > All , isnt exactly the whole story ...
and if you wanna be real nitty gritty and technical..the type r is a p73 with a VERY SLIGHT AND MINOR port and polish

type r is not p73 its a pr3. same casting as a b16 head. the only differences internally between a b16 head and a type r head is valvetrain, cams, and the mild factory port on the type r. now if ur intending on building this motor in the future chances are ur not gonna be using type r vlavetrain/cams. what i would recommend is ls/vtec or b20/vtec. i have a b20 vtec in my DAILY DRIVEN DA integra and its sees 8000 rpms often. and u dont need to buy no bullshit golden eagle kit. u can piece that kit together for way cheaper ur just paying for convenience with them. i dont know how much the golden eagle kit is but i belkeive its like 300 and i got all my stuff for less thanm $150. and with the money u save u can get a breather kit for ur b20/ls/vtec. and u dont need forged rods or forged pistons to run a reliable ls/vtec. although, if u intend on goin with bigger cams, u will have to either cut the valve reliefs alittle bigger on ur stock pistons or go with something aftermarket. which i would recommend rs machines itr replica pistons. (they are only like $295). arp rod bolts are pretty necessary if u intend on revving it. and u dont need a different oil pump. u jus need the vtec water pump. ur also gonna need a gsr timing belt. arp head studs are not a nessecity either. u can use stock head studs. and a vtec head is not 800, if ur payin 800 it better be dipped in jdm gold or some ****. i got my b16 head with a mild port, itr valvetrain, itr cams, aebs manifold, and jg cam gears for $600. i think gsr is overrated. cause a stock ls/vtec vs. a stock gsr whos gonna win? ls/vtec every time. as far as the heads go, b16 isnt really much better than gsr or vice versa, as fars as air flow is. a stock b16 flows a couple more CFM than a gsr head. and when i say a couple, thats what i mean. hope this helps.

Pick 2 of those 3 words, you can only have two...
I'd say a good all around motor for you dollar if your not looking to do your own tuning and such would be your basic GSR swap, its not incredibly powerful, but its a good base to start with.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I second that B18C1 (arugably the most practical motor for tegs)
