Automatic Teg worthless?
Ok guys this is the deal... I have owned a 90 300zx 5spds,94 integ 5spd, and now i drive a 93 accord 5spd. I am going to buy another car but im getting sick of shifting gears and problems with honda 5spds.. my question is: is getting a auto teg worthless and kind of ruin the car? the way i see it is that the teg is not a true sports car so should it matter? any ideas?
IMO auto tegs (actually auto hondas in general) are worthless. Maybe the teg isn't a true sports car, but with an auto tranny its gonna feel even less sporty. Without a manual tranny i just don't see the fun in driving the car.

In my opinion autos are worthless, but that's me.
If you want an automatic, go for it, it's your car and you'll have to live with the decision you make.

I have an auto teg and I enjoy it.
Keep in mind I've never driven a 5 spd. before, so I have no first-hand experience as to what kind of performance you lose when you compare a manual vs an automatic.
An auto teg can still be fun to drive. I've modified my suspension a bit, and it's every bit of fun carving up some twisty roads, and like you said, the teg isn't a true sports car, so it's not like the 5 spd. is going to put you into a different category.
But what it comes down to is to just take a test drive and see for yourself if an auto teg is what you want!

Most people would say that this automatic 4D GS is worthless. I'm not trying to be the fastest, or best show winner, or track assasin. I'm just trying to build and tune a nice car.
I got a auto teg and Q45 after been driving stick for over 8 years but stick is more fun to drive but it has its down points like cant eat or drink when switching gears or talking on the cell I can manage all these things but I hate it.
an auto integra would be an ideal commute car IMO. for one who enjoys driving and plans on maybe modifying, as well as any genre of racing, 5spd. is the way to go
I have an auto, here in NYC
to be honest it's the 1st non-manual car I've ever owned and if it was easy and convenient I'd have switched it over to manual by now
but it never comes out right from what I hear
I'll be selling mine soon, especially when school is up, I'll just buy a used GSR or Type-R with a 5-spd because I love the Teg

I wouldn't buy any 4 cylinder automatic. If you want an automatic, that's cool, but get a car with some good low end torque. I would recommend something like a Maxima, or well... anything with a V6, I6 or V8
I actually dont mind owning my auto teg. It wasnt meant to be the fastest car and it keeps me out of trouble, unlike my manual DB2. Its a nice car to drive in traffic. If you wanna make an auto teg fast you will have to spend a lot of $$$$ to do it!
does it matter?? if u like the car and ur tire of shifting all the time...then get an auto..driving the car u luv and not to worry bout shiftin...its all about what u want...its not their car...who said u cant soup up an auto?? its still good man...i say if u want an auto...go for it...
like i said the last 3 cars i've owned have been 5spd dont get me wrong it is fun shifting but it is a bitch shifting when the car is ice cold here in Minneapolis, plus trafic in the city sucks with a 5spd.... a integra is not a race car its a compact economy car the way i look at it.. any other ideas?
If you see it that way then by all means, go for it. Personally, I prefer my automatics to have at least a V6/I6, due to the greater torque.
Least if the auto tranny goes you can pick another one up for cheap. Hell i can get one for like a $100 from my importer on occasion in perfect condition. Demand is so small for them they are practically giving them away.
