You need to twist wires together in the cabin. That will allow you to take your key out of the ignition when you stop. It tricks your system into thinking you have your car in park the whole time. Honestly I don't suggest you tear apart your whole dashboard to change out the cabin harness when all you need to do is twist a few wires together.

You must really love that car...most people would just take the easy way out by selling it and getting something that's already standard.

1-I think you should modify the transmission top support mount (near the battery)
2- Another issue is the switch to start the car. (parking, neutral ) and the switch to avoid starting the car in a gear with M trans. (optional)
3- If you going Vtec you will need a Vtec computer.
4-Best bet is to have the car with manual trans. close to the automatic so you can swap parts as you need it.
5-You didn't mention the car year, neither if a cable or hydraulic trans. (another $20)
Best for dragging is the short shift gears (YS1). A-1 is long gears, good for turbos and highway.
Its not impossible but involve a hard work. Plus a new pressure plate and disc, etc etc

im in the process of swapping the whole cabin harness from a auto to manual to avoid headaches down the road that wire twisting can suck if you connect the wrong wires and short something out..
