Hi.

I'm wondering how hard it is to convert an automatic to a 5-speed. There's one shop that says they'll do it for est. $2000. Does this seem like a fair deal? I also heard from others it's not really that hard to do, and they'll do it with me. Is it easy or more difficult than others think?

 

ive done 2 conversions, one on a integra and the other on a civic and honestly they arent that hard. there is a sticky thread in here about this conversion

 

I would do it myself before paying 2K for it

 

man for $2k i'd sell the automatic car and go out and buy a manual equipped car wouldnt even think about the trouble or cost of a conversion... less down time and superior reliability in my book.

oddly enough, if done right...with stock parts, reliability isnt a issue

 

Thanks for all your advice. Do you know where I can get a used one and how much it'll run me? I tried here in town, but most are quite a bit.
