automatic gear problems

automatic gear problems
If anyone here have encounter a similar problem can you please help me out.
I just bought a 91 LS 4D automatic for my beater and the engine runs strong, but after running for a while the car does not go into gears and seems to be in nuetral. When I turn the car off and restart the car, it goes into gear again for a little bit but while driving, goes back to a neutral statues. I do not know what I can do to fix this. Is this a problem with the ECU, transmission, what can I do to fix this? Any help will be greatly appreciated

sorry to burst your bubble of hope
but the best thing to do is to change your tranny...
the clutch pack its almost gone..
you could pick up another tranny for less than $300
