yeah i think they did. dang there has to be some kind of rule where if you dont claim your car and its been parked on the street for 2 months that you get to keep it. haha.

nah i dont think title was inside but if it was dayum. lol that would suck. yeah seriously though i hate to see a car go to waste especially with a perfectly good motor..

i'd be willing to bet that there is a law of an unclaimed vehicle clause. like if you abandon it or something. if you get some info on that **** let me know, i got cash waiting for motor. only if its legal though. i would try posting in craigslist or something, like car found tag # blah blah blah. and speak with police or something, that would be cool.

you can get it, legally. you all ready called the cops so that is a start. only thing is that the cops didn't do $h!t. cause technically that could be considered a abandon car, and you could get a salvage title, that's right, YOU can get the salvage title. call the cops again. cause they need to get it towed to a junk yard(only place that i know of that can get a salvage title). you find that junk yard and tell them to hold it for you(pay them if you have too) it'll take a month. if the current owner doesn't claim it in a month just go to the junk yard and the the car. (of course this is how it works in pa, don't know about anywhere else). so there you go, call cops, wait to see if current owner wants it back, find junk yard were it's being held at, and buy it. only thing is don't know how much the junk yard would be welling to sell it(storage fees and stuff).

Called a lien sale. If the owner of the car doesnt claim it within a certain amount of time (after you file a claim with the DMV), then the owner of the property of which the vehicle sits on can have a new title made and take possession of the car as if he/she purchased it.

Taking that which is not yours is stealing. It makes you a thief.

You cannot claim a car that is not yours. I have heard of people purchasing cars from police auction only to find that they were stolen. The car was removed from their posession and returned to the rightful owner.

I am locking this. Many of you people highly disappoint me. What if that was your car?
