another timing issue!!

Default another timing issue!!

today i replaced the timing belt on my 95 ls and now the car wont idle.. it runs fine after im already driving it.. but it stalls as soon as im off the gas .. i made sure the arrows were pointing straight up on the cam shaft pullys when i put the new belt on but what else could have went wrong???

Did you disconnect any vacum lines? Mabee you knocked one off by mistake. Something to look at.

so you made sure the cams were right did you make the bottom end tdc

you need to put the #1 piston to TDC by aligning the white mark on the crank pulley with the arrow on the timing cover. now check to see if the arrows are pointing up, they dont have to be exactly straight up, just as long as the tick marks on the 3 oclock and 9 oclock position are pointing directly at each other. if not then take off the timing belt and rotate the cams so that they are in the correct position. i dunno if you know this already, just trying to help. if youre confused, search "TDC" and read up.

thank you all!!... i took everything apart again and took my time settin the crank and cam shaft to tdc and the car is running fine now... at least i learned how to change a timing belt the right way... but i find it easier swaping the whole engine lol.. whoever has an obd 1 gsr for a good price let me kno..thanks
