When AEM got their dyno #'s for the V2...they left that damn hood open on the dyno. I just got a comptech and am pretty happy with it...haven't tried both to be sure...but I hear the v2 is mostly about creating sound.

It's really just a matter of how the filter is made... the filter sits down there in wheel well and is exposed to water directly...not really much you can do....a little rain is not going to hurt it..just dont drive through tons of standing water and you should be fine. Most of the people hydrolocking motors are driving through puddles that should be considered small lakes... just use common sense...if you seem iffy about driving through a deep area of water...then dont.

Edit: the icebox has an inlet tube that feeds air to a box similar to the stock one...so the filter is kept up and out of the way....if the water is deep enough, you can hydrolock anything...but it's chances are massively decreased.

^ right on.

Ive had my V2 on for about 8 months now and have never had a problem with water, and ive driven it in some pretty large rainstorms over the summer. I personally like my v2 pretty well. Ive never driven a teg with the icebox, im sure its great too. THere was a thread floating around with a big intake test either here or over on T-I.net. Ill see if i can find you a linky.

the copmtech has higher hp gains than the v2, chech comptechs web site and im not sure which one but a few monthsago there was a mag that did a head to head and the comptech gained more hp but it was just by a few prbably not even noticable.

seriously, either way you go, you're going to make decent gains... for what they are.

yea, i have heard nothing but good about the icebox, but i have heard the V2 and it sounds wicked where as the icebox pretty much sounds stocl...i personally rotate between a AEM CAI and AEM SRI depending on the season, but if i had a couple hundred bucks sitting around i would get the icebox...Honda-tech has transformed me
