Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe AEM uses the K&N filters.

The filters are almost the same
K&N filter=same as AEM just says K&N
AEM filter=Same as K&N just says AEM
The K&N now shipped with the AEM is suppose to yield an extra 1 to 2 whp.

thanks for the quick replies... and by the way: the new filter on the aem intakes is NOT a k&n filter. taken straight from the website "AEM Introduces Redesigned Filter
AEM has developed its own unique filter design for its Cold Air and Short Ram induction systems.
The new AEM filter features a redesigned air horn for improved airflow that delivers additional gains of 1-3 horsepower on the company’s intake systems. Once again, AEM has found a way to make the best intake systems on the market even better!".

hahahah.

Gotta love how AEM puts out these results. I doubt you'll see the difference in performance considering the filter will get beat up and perform like any other unti in about a weeks worth of driving.

Hey man, whatever floats your boat.

It doesn't really matter. The cotton gauze filter is basically the same on both the AEM and the K&N. AEM just took the design from K&N and made their own. You won't get any more horsepower either way. Have you thought about a foam filter like Spoon, Comptech, or HKS?

AEM and K&N filters are basically the same. Just a marketing scheme.
