Accerlation problem
I own an 95 automatic transmission integra with about 165K on it.
Early in the morning, or when the cars cold and hasnt been on the road, the car accerlerates fine. Its extremely strong when I press the pedal, but after a short drive, the car seems like it runs flat. Like when I step on the gas, it wont accerlerate. It feels like something is preventing it from going, but it stills goes. It feels like something is clogged, so there's a lack thrust /accerlation and alot of hesistation. The wierd thing is that it runs fine sometimes and not others. I just got my timing checked etc and it seems right.
Any ideas what it could be? My car idles fine, etc.. Theres just those times where I press on the gas and it wont go, unless I step on it way down. My gas milage has been okay too, about 260 gallons or so (mostly city).
Any ideas what I can do?

first of all you shouldnt be hittin the gas that hard when the engine isnt warmed up. it is not good for it at all. but for some reason i think your car runs faster when its cold but i forget why.
i dont know, but a friend of mine with an old school accord had the same problem. car would run good when cold, but as soon as it heated up, car wouldnt go anywhere. u could hear the engine race n but the car wouldnt accelerate fast. might be the torque converter but im not too sure. it has something to do with the transmission

its bad to slam ur car when its cold.
im probably wrong, but maybe after pushing it whe its cold, it just reacts badly, and isnt running well at normal temperatures because uve already mashed it.

When was the last time you had your transmission serviced? It may be about time. Maybe the clearences are out of spec as well. Torque converter/clutches? I would look at possible tranny problems first.
Find out if there is a good shop in your area and have the technician do a diagnostic check on your car. if it 96 or later they can just plug in the scanner. if its older theres other **** they can do. At the shop where i write service we charge $172.00 to start, but you can probably find it cheaper than that. It sounds like you have a misfire at higher rpms, check your cap, rotor, plugs, and wires first, then check for fuel pressure.
