acceleration problems
hi,
I have a 94 Integra LS 5 speed and its hesitating to accelerate. It hesitates to rev on neutral and when its on drive. I've changed fuel pump, the fuel filter is new, cleaned the throttle body with Throttle body cleaner, cleaned the idle air control valve, and changed to OEM fast idle thermo valve. I've bought TPS from eBay as well but from the other forums, people state the problem about hesitation only when they are on drive. I had oil in my spark plug tube so I cleaned the oil and changed the gasket as well. I also have a CEL with codes 8-TDC and 9-CYP sensor. I also hear rattling sound from distributor.
Thank you.

?? You changed all that other stuff and you have a CEL for the distrubutor and it's rattling.
You should have started with inspecting and maybe replacing the distributor. Failure of the components related to those codes will cause a really bad hesitation.

yeah. I opened up the dizzy and checked. Replaced the inner seal a couple of months before so no leak.. Had the TDC marked before taking the dizzy off. Its not OEM though..
Dont know about rattling though. I dont see anything when looking at the rotor and no residue in the cap

Update:
the oem was wrong part. Got a brand new distributor from eBay, changed the sparkplugs and its the same. There is still a faint rattling from new distributor but no cel.
all 4 spark plugs were black. and there was gunk around the threads of the 4th spark plug.

the engine when revving at neutral will hesitate to rev up when acceleration is depressed rapidly. when driving, it does the same. it keeps hesitating until the acceleration is released and runs alright when slowly pressed.
sounds like another bad brand x ebay tps.
test it and/or replace with dorman.

Did you ever solve the problem cuz im having the same issue and a TPS didnt solve it. I tried to buy a dorman but i paid and never got anything in return lol. But i did end up installing a new one and it ddint help
guarantee the distributor is bad, but now that you replaced the TPS for no good reason, I guarantee it was installed incorrectly also, because even seasoned mechanics install it wrong.
You have to get the pin of the throttle assembly inside that TPS bore to wedge between the two legs that stick out of the TPS sensor. Then hold it in place, snug the screws, make sure you have the right voltage, and torque the crap out of those screws when it's properly calibrated.
