does the ac compressor stop working when there is no more freon?

when i turn on the ac i dont feel the throttle open or the compressor fan spin.

what could be the problem? thanks

 

 

it should still work even if there's no freon in the system. all the freon does is give you the chilled air.. no reason for the compressor to stop working cuz of no freon.

check the fuses under the hood and in the cabin by your pedals.

check the wires to the **** that controls the ac fan speed. and if you have enough time, and know where its at.. check the wires leading to the compressor.

i dont think the fan or anything could of burnt out but it is a small possibility. but might wanna resort to that last. cuz the chances of that i think are very slim
