Default ABS help...

So i am an auto major, and i have to wright a ABS paper. but guess what i need to know alot about the ABS system and i cant find diddly anything, especially in mitchell on demand at school.

I am pretty sure its a 4 line system, 4 wheel speed sensors located in a sealed hub. ??

and what brand are the LS ABS pumps. ?? anyone know

all is greatly appreciated.

thanks

Also whats all needed to delete this gayness, my pump fried some time ago, do to running dry, and persoanlly i hate abs.

How hard is the delete on a 1-10 scale, whats all parts needed, and any tips to do it right so the brakes still work fine, this is my daily driver. so i need it to work.

Here's the information with diagrams on how ABS works: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-p...lock-brake.htm
http://www.aa1car.com/library/abs1.htm

LS ABS system is called Nisin for the OBD2 models. I forgot the OBD1 model from my 95 LS. They've actually made the OBD2' size smaller if it helps.

Lastly, I remember you need to replace the unit and have a computer run the setup for ABS. But in your case, it seems like you just need to replace the brake master cylinder. I've never seen ABS fall apart since it's mainly a sensory system. Just go buy a replacement brake master cylinder and slap it on :D

On a scale from 1-10 in difficulty, it should land in the 6-8 since you're going to need to pump all 4 brakes--my biggest nemesis because it's a annoying job. If you have someone to help you pump the brakes, the difficulty level falls in the 5-6 range of difficulty. Call around for the brake cylinder before driving around. It's always cheapest to pick one up at the junkyard but there's no guarantee that it'll work.

^ The biggest misunderstanding I've seen oh HT.

I would say the difficulty is a 6.
To delete the ABS you need a 40/40 prop valve, front brake lines and MC to prop valve lines from an RS.

Or you could just cut, bend, and flare your existing lines to fit with the 40/40.
