Default ABS code

Does anybody know what ABS Code 42 is? Thanx.

Code 42 is Front Left Wheel sensor

Does it mean it's bad? And when you say left, do you mean sitting in the car or looking at the car head on? TIA-Dan

sitting in car, left syyyyde.

um. do you have a helm's? it has a list of diagnostics checks. could be something simple.

thats what i'm saying.. if you have the helm's manual.. there's like a checklist of things to look at. it could be broken. shorted. or really.. anything. tons of things.

Ummmmm - C'mon, we can't see your car from here! You gotta look.

Is the wire busted? Or maybe just unplugged?

The sensor is positioned to read those little teeth around the outboard CV joint. Sometimes there's so much crud in there between the sensor & the toothed ring that it doesn't read right. Clean it off & see if that helps.
