my distributor makes a noise when i start the car from a dead cold and when once warmed up, it doesn't make the noise anymore! is this thing shot? and if anyone knows can i please get a part number for this? thanks for helping

How could it be shot, if it still works?
Have you taken the cap off to inspect it for any loose parts?

 

yes i replace cap and rotor...both torqued and fine...i can't pinpoint the problem and i fiured since it makes this "weak grinding noise" that it's not distributing the right amount of power to everything

 

odd...i was going to say the bearing but if it stops when hot then i doubt it

it's a 97' RS...i have P/N now, just need to know what it could be besides bearing...or just replace whole housing? $175
