if you keep it N/A then 2 1/4 might be better. but if your going all out on mods then you should get custom 2 1/2 piping at a muffler shop

regardless of if you choose FI or N/A as your path, 2.5" inside diameter piping will support up to 250 wheel horsepower, no matter what you've done to the engine. If you want to surpass 250whp, then you'll need larger piping. If you don't even think you'll reach 200 whp, then 2.25 ID piping is for you.

It's always all about the power you make, not FI or N/A.

some options to consider if you plan for a 2.5 id system:

- hytech (horrible turn around time but awesome product)
- SMSP (better turn around time)

There is a pretty good technical article on Team-Integra regarding exhausts systems. the fundamentals of building an exhaust system is something you should understand before shopping for a system... keep in mind you must know your power goals as well.

Magnaflow makes a 2.5 inch piping kit for the GSR. It doesn't come assembled, though. It's what I have, cost me around $225 for the piping, then another $80-$100 for a muffler and $50ish for a 14 inch resonator. Voila! A 2.5 inch system for about $425 + $50 for my bud to put it together and install it.

Your doing what I have, JDM ITR 4-1 and 2.5 Carsound.

No not true. You won't see the same kinda gains that you would from a modified motor with that exhaust but it will allow you to do more later on. You can't get an exhaust thats too big. What will happen is some of the diameter will just be unusued. Consider it preparation for future mods.

He's asking if a 2.25 or 2.38 is better for a stock GSR than a 2.5. Yes, they are.

But I do think 2.25 is a bit small for a GSR, unless your going for midrange power.

If you'll only be doing bolt-ons to your GSR and want to focus on building midrange power, get a 2.25.

If your only doing bolt-ons and want to build high rpm power, go with a 2.36-2.38.

I would be really interested in what he sais. I'm gonna get the h/c/e put on at a muffler shop cause i can't weld, but I dont want to pay extra for some him to custom make the pipes.

I'm making 300 whp with 2.5" down pipe and greddy evo2 which I believe is 2.5" as well with no problems.
