94 Integra (automatic) starting issues
Hi everyone,
I have a 94 integra LS, automatic, and it is having an intermittent issue when starting. When I turn the key, it will just click, sometimes if I put it in neutral it will start right up, sometimes I have to go back and forth between "P" and "N" a few times before it will start. Occasionally it will even crank once, very weak, and then the same issue with it just clicking.
The radio and clock still work, so I don't think it is the battery.
It has been locked in "P" in the past, and I have had to insert the key in the gear selector lock and move it to "N" to start it, but that has only happened a few times over the past 18 months.
The issue is starting to become more persistent and I don't want to get stuck somewhere with my car not being able to start. I was thinking it could be the starter, ignition switch, or if there is gear selector switch possibly that? Any information would be great!
Thanks

Also, I cleaned and checked all of the connections and grounds between the starter and the battery. Everything is in good shape. Outside of this issue the car runs really well
So, I replaced the ignition switch (not the key and cylinder, just the switch). It started up fine the first few times, but then again this morning the same thing happened. It eventually started after 2 or 3 tries.
Any suggestions? At this point I wonder if it is the starter that is going out? If anyone has dealt with a similar situation, and info is appreciated

Your problem is the Automatic Gear Shift Indicator Switch.
Either poor connections, [possibly repairable] or the switch needs "centering", [adjusting].94
