94-97 lip Hardware?
Hey everyone, I really hate to post a thread about this but I did search through a few old post and did find some answers. I'm anticipating on buying either an SI VTEC, or the 97 ITR lip after my tax return comes in. I've looked over the OEM diagram and I really just need clearification/verification of the correct parts needed for proper fitment.
In the diagram below I can see that I'll probably need parts 28 & 36 (bolts and clips), but is there anything else needed? I've hightlighted some of the hardware that I'm uncertain I might need, thanks to everyone in advance!

you don't really need all that stuff, plus it will cost u quiet a bit. depends on the lip u get, it should have attachment tabs with markings of where the screw hole should be. same thing on the bumper
take off ur bumper and attach the lip so it would align the best way, or the way it will satisfy u securing it with masking tape; then screw the lip on with self tapping screws and check alignment again. after u happy, take it off grab some bolts, self-locking nuts and washers in home depot. drill holes where self tapping screws left marks and bolt it up with ur home depot hardware. it should do the trick!
at least it worked for me, and i was satified with the results. gl

Yeah, I know thats an option, but the money for the OEM parts is not really an issue. I just want to try and make it fit like it would off the production line, otherwise if for some reason after I bought the nessasary hardware it still didn't fit, then I wouldnt mind trying additional hardware store nuts, bolts, washers, etc.

you might want to check on the lip. Not sure if acura still has the 97 type r lip anymore if its a aftermarket knock off you might end up using double sided tape and a few screws on the side to hold it on. i say just wait untill you have the lip then worry about the hardware to install it.

Re: 94-97 lip Hardware?
Damn, sorry everyone. I just noticed on the display ad (on JDMSHIT's webpage) where the mounting hardware is said to be included with the ITR lip (which I was kinda leaning toward buying anyway). At first I was looking at the SI VTEC lip which did not note any included mounting hardware, so I guess that takes care of that problem & seals the deal for ITR.
Thanks again everyone!
Thanks again everyone!

if u getting a JDMshit poly lip, which is the one i had, sivtec. it did come with hardware which was nothing but a bunch of self-tapping screws.
if i was to install a oem lip i would go with oem hardware for sure, but if u getting a knock off i would attach it with home depot stuff or what ever i would find laying around. just my opinion

The OEM hardware is the same as the mounting hardware which hold the lower bumper and the upper bumper. Also the 90-93 integra/ legend/ accord use the same hardware on the front lip.

Re: 94-97 lip Hardware?
OK, well as far as the clips for the lip the diagram shows part 36 (clip) for the lip to lowerbumper pairing using part 28 (bolt). What about part 42 which look's like another clip for the sides where the lip pairs to the bumper? This also requires parts 28 (bolt).

Screw that OEM re-supply stuff dude, you will pay so much for that stuff. Don't go to that unless you rly need a super-extraneous part not found anywhere. Multitask search using Honda-Tech/Craigslist/Ebay to find a 94-97 iTR lip, you will save loads of money, and you might just find a carbon fiber one haha.

Re: 94-97 lip Hardware?
I just bought a ITR urethane lip off of eBay.
It came with most of the hardware. 5 mounting plates, 5 rivets, and 4 screws.
I just needed 5 nuts and bolts to secure it under the front bumper.
It looks as good as it fits.

Re: 94-97 lip Hardware?
Yeah, it all depends I guess. I not totally oppose to doing that as long as it doent look too shabby, but I'd like to have the clips in place yet still. IDK, I guess Im just picky
Allright so pictured below are the mounting clips used for pairing the upper to lower bumper, so your saying I should be able to use these same clips for the lip?

Edit: http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal It's 28 and 42 are the bolt and clip that I was talking about. Which is the same as 28 and 36 in the picture.

Re: 94-97 lip Hardware?
FYI...the OEM lip doesn't come with any hardware anymore. I just got one about 2 months ago and it didn't come with anything. I have the hardware ordered at the dealership but havent picked it up yet so Im not 100% on how many and which ones.

Re: 94-97 lip Hardware?
Yeah, I checked it out the day before yesterday. 7 different holes/postions on the bottom of the lower bumper where the lip attaches. I'm pretty sure I know whats needed now, thanks again!
