i have a 1991 acura integra and when i put it into gear (any gear) the shifter wobbles around like half as much as if its in neutral...i just put energy suspension bushings in it and it hasent done anything for the wobbleness ...can anyone help me with this crap

there should be bushings or some washers thats go next to the bearing. When these are not in there is excessive side to side play. did you put the bearing in?

no i just bought bushings for the shifter stabilizer and was hopin that was the problem .....thanks for the help...can i get to the bearings from the inside of the car

 

My 92 does the exact same thing, I replaced the bushings when I put in my short throw, and nothing. It dont really bother me much though.

 

then do u think its just something worn out inside the tranny

 

I just dropped my tranny and replaced the clutch and flywheel. When I pulled the tranny, I left the linkage at the tranny end attached and disconnected it from the shifter end. When I put everything back together, I noticed my stick was alot firmer with alot less play. It must have been loose before, but now that I retightened the bolts at the shifter and stabilizer everything is firm again. I don't think it is your tranny, I think the play might be at your shifter to shift rod bolt.
