watts = measurement of power consumed.
lumes = measurement of light output.

so if you have 10,000 watt bulbs that are still 1500 lumens, its better to get silverstarts which are 1700 lumens and only 60 watts

I did, its great.

yep, 51W 9006 = 1000 lumens output, 60W 9005 = 1700 lumens output.

compare that to the 9004 headlights my old car used, as well as G2 Integras, 700 lumens output on the low beam (45W).

Guy thanks alot...i guess you just solved my problem.

I just thought about it as like changing the light bulb in your house. usually when you get the higher watt bulb the brighter it gets.

I'll keep u updated when i get some bulbs.

If you look at some household bulbs, you will find some bulbs of the same wattage that have different light outputs (which indicates how efficient the bulb is). Check the lumens on some household bulbs, you'll see.

Just to be clear this mod replaces your low beam bulbs with what were originally meant to be high beam bulbs, correct?

Sylvania lists 9006 for the low beams and 9005 for the high beams.
