dont kno about purple 9005 but i have a set of PIAA purple 110w 9006...and they're like ****...i cant even see the damn road at night, i got 'em for free from my friend's sc400 (he upgraded to HID). if u want purple lights then get HID...dont waste ur money on regular color bulbs..
i used 9006 eurolites once, but i found out taht purple and blue (hyper whites) suck in the rain at night. you cant see squat. im using plasa glow yellows 9005 right now and they light up the wet ground a lot better then purple and blue. and they look better.
im gonna ask a dumb question but what about just splicing in 9005 wiring harness in place of the 9006? and then just dremel some of that top tab out so it fits. unless im missin something it seems a lot easier than havin to mess with the bulbs, especially if one burns out.
OK, its been 7 months since I did this upgrade & I have burned out the driver side bulb the other day. There have been no side effects to this upgrade in anyway, however burning out a bulb this soon sucks. I usually get several years out of a bulb. If the other bulb blows anytime soon then I will assume this upgrade works, but can only be considered temporary. It did work & I did like it however.
