i dont' think there should be a issue of the rings or whatever....
you just mod it and plug it in.... works for me..
i had my Cool Blue for almost a year without any problem, just recently replaced them with SilverStar

way to go babe.... for ppl who can't afford HID.....
9005 conversion is great way to see roads better at night VS Stock bulbs

you just slide the second ring on to ensure a tight seal. its easy, dont worry about it. the only hard part is cutting the "rails" but it is one of the best mods i have done. just remember this... "i once was blind, but now i see..."

Man..... i think the 9005 head light conversion is for the low beams...... no asking your to put it up to the high beams

check this site out http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/upgrade/more_light.htm

does this 9005 conversion make the low beam
to be as bright as high beam? so can i turn all four
lights on after the 9005 conversion?
Otherwise, can you guys do a conversion of 9006?
so the high beam won't be that bright, then
i can turn them with the low beam.....
sorry guys....i just love the look of Teg when
it have four lights on...

I also did this conversion with the Silverstars, and I'm pretty damn impressed thus far, superb increase in light output over the old stockers. Heres a bad pic:

i would love to see a picture from inside the car at night. Definatly interested in this swap out. There was a post a while back about this same swap out but the light output didnt look anything like this. Could be camera but i dont know. The ammount of light looks great, however the look of the light being output by the bulbs appears, at least from this picture to have a similar appearence ....read..color.....as the stock bulbs. night time pics would be great dude if you could get them.

Will try to get some pix tonite if my roomie lets me borrow his camera again. The color is not truly white (no matter what sylvania's ads say), but it is quite a bit whiter than the stockers. The difference was really apparent I had the silverstars on one side, and the stock bulbs on the other side. Anyhow, i'll get some up tonite.

I dunno, but my hyperwhite bulbs always blow, like every 5 months or so.

What are you saying? The outer lights (the ones that are on) are the low beams. The inner lights are the high beams.

Either I'm confused because you write very poorly, or you're still confused about which is low/high beam.

can u just mod the 9005 bulbs and drag the bulbs with the 9005 harness wires and stick them into the low beam housings? and just take out the low beam bulbs cause you won't be using the low beam harness. By doing so, you'll have to turn the high beam on all the time. therefore you don't have to use any low beam bulbs and don't have to worry about frying it. Is the 9005 harness long enough to reach the low beam housing?

Or you could just spend the 5 minutes to modify a 9005 bulb. You're over-thinking.

I'm sure Kragen, Autozone, or Pepboys have them.

This thread is dragging on. My advise: If you have 15 bucks, just do it. You will not regret it. Unlike the page with the instructions on the conversion, it does not need to come out that pretty. I used a pair of wire cutters to nibble off half of that center notch. And some needle nose pliers to break the 2 ramps inside the connector. As long as the bulb stays in the socket and you can get electricity through it you are good. A dremel could come in handy if you own one though.
