I run pretty hard on occasion, I go to the redline maybe 2 times a day. Car doesn't seem to have any problems with it.

i doubt you take the stock gsr past 8500, there is something called a fuel cutoff, even if you disabled it, you dont make **** for power after 8k, and you just hurt your motor. If you do this im suprised if you havent bound a spring and got some valve float.

Pretty much everybody that drives their car everyday should follow the severe maintenance schedule. I wouldn't feel comfortable following the lesser schedule unless my car was maybe only a weekend driver or something.

drive it like you stole it - if your fuel doesnt cut off every once in a while you arent trying, my b18 runs better when i open it up at least a couple times a day - traffic and lack of cops permitting

There is a Normal Driving Maintenance Interval Schedule designed for people who drive in completely clean, sterile environments, are never in stop and go traffic, and never race - it requires oil changes every 7,500 miles, etc etc.
The severe driving maintenance interval is on the next page over in the manual, and it is for people who might encounter dust, heat, stop and go driving, etc, and it calls for oil changes every 3,750 miles. Of course, the other services are also set at a lower interval as well, to compensate for extra wear and tear.
And to answer your question, I hardly ever take my car to 8k anymore. Maybe 2 times a week, in one gear. I don't even know the last time I hit redline in every gear (1-4).

I dont need to. By the time I get to about 5k-7k whatever I was trying to do is done (merge into traffic, cut someone off, etc). I havent seen 8k in about a week or so.
Never hit the rev limiter
Never redlined 1-4

That's how I drive but I take that to the extreme.
Always shifting at 3-3.5k but up to 4k uphills.

wow I'm a baby to my car compared to you guys. I have an R swap in my car and only go close to redline is when I have friends in my car and want to show it off a bit, otherwise I usualy don't go over 3500
If I blew my motor I would never forgive myself.

blow your motor? That's what the limiter is there for, to keep that from happening. I bought my car at 89K miles and now have 162K on it, and have been redlinging almost every day since I bought it, and it's still going strong, no leaks, no oil burning, nothing.
