403's?
Thinking of putting in some crower 403's into my 97 LS some time in the future with the new valvetran. Is there any other stage two setups from other companies that might net me a better result? I havn't been able to find any dyno results from other companies. Also I can't find a website for Jun cams.. anyone have a link???
Jun only makes VTEC cams, for non-Vtec (I am one) anything crower makes is
IMO.
Also keep in mind, if you get dual valve-springs (Skunk2) and retainers, you can redline safely (almost) to around 8200, but I don't think the stock block will
you too much for it.
Hot over there in sacto? I am in Sonora,

sacramento is hot a F**K 104degrees today
i will be running crower 404's on my ls, probably be ready in a week
p+p head/3 angle valve job/ dual retainers/ti valve springs/ oversized valves/chipped OBDI ecu

i have 403zz and i like them ... on my old dyno sheet .. my HP and torque went str8 up like a 45degree angle to 6500rpm where i had them end the run .. no dips hp/torque kept climbing... i like them
The dyno of the 403's on Crower's site just shows it taking away a little low end torque and adding a little high end torque. That causes the hp rating to increase and it helps when racing (since your rpms stay in the mid and high ranges), but it seems like nothing special to me... I beleive the Skunk2 intake manifold has a very similar effect.
Does anyone who has the 403's get better results that the dyno on Crower's site? I know a lot of people like the 403's and I'm sure there's a reason, but I don't see it yet... Can anyone explain it to me?

i have and like the 403's.............i like them because they dont make the car idle like a harley and i can still pass our strict emmision laws. they make great power from 4500rpm up until 7500rpm and even 8000rpm in 1'st and 2'nd gear........
the 404's are nice but you sacrafice idle quality, emmisions and fuel milage for that extra 10-15hp on the top end........

I have the 403's and love them. I would definitely recommend, my LS was transformed by them. I'm pulling 147 whp and 130 (wheel!) ft/lbs of torque with very good curves. I ran a 15.1 at the track with them with a 2.3 60' on stock suspension and regular street tires. The car idles very good now that it's tuned. Gas mileage is still excellent. I definitely recommend them, but do it right all at once. Get the cams, gears, and fpr installed and tuned immediately. Non-tuned is good, but the idle won't be excellent and it will run rich at idle. IM me at MagicAndy1 if you have any questions.
Check the sig for my dyno and time sheet.
