Bone stock b18b1. Car runs fine and I was driving it 5000 miles I changed the clutch.
Then yesterday did a couple of runs at the track.
Got back I can't go in 3rd gear?! Only when I'm rolling. Only way I can go in 3rd gear is go in 2nd then 3rd but has some resistance.
But if I'm starting in 1st gear then 2nd then go in 3rd it will go in.
It even goes in when not moving. Even when the cars off.

If I'm rolling on 4th then I downshift it won't go in 3rd

Anyone had this problem?

 

check that all your mounts are good and that the shift linkage isn't loose and or damaged.

Bent shifter fork, will not be the first time a shifter fork was ben when banging gears on the track...

^Will require OP to pull the MS/CS out right ? maybe just easier to get a new ls trans or something like it(GSR is my vote)

 

It would requier pulling the transmission and opening it up, I would also look for a GS-R transmission, it's what I did with my 94RS and am loving it. 94

 

So a bent shift fork will cause it not to go on gear while moving?
Only time it goes on is while not moving and shifting from 2nd to 3rd

 

That or synchromesh, but synchromesh would be a problem moving or not, either way you would need to drop the transmission.94
