Ok first question:

My car constantly sounds as if it has a supercharger. Why? It whistles like that all the time, and I am confused. YES, I have checked, there is no supercharger under there...heh.

Second question:

While racing once, my engine sounded as if it were in boost when i hit about 6500 rpms. The engine wasn't completely warmed up. After it was warm, I never heard it again. What exactly was this noise for?

what do you drive? b18b? auto or stick? my motor sounds like complete *** after 6k, sounds like air just rushing in. it's cuz the motor isn't efficent to run at that kind of RPM.

the whine could be coming form your tranny. lately mine's been doing that whether it's at operating temp or not. but mine is less noticable as i have a loud *** intake.

 

i have a b18c1 94 gsr. Stick of course.

 

doesnt this have to do with the alternator? like, it pushes so much power to the speakers when ur revving or somethin weird as hell like that?

 

does your car have a short ram intake?

...I have an LS with a short ram, and it whistles all the time...like a turbo is spoolin' up. But it usually only does it when its cold. As for when I hit around 6000 rpms all I can hear is intake sucking in like a motha, like I'm at maximum boost. haha...I think its pretty normal man.

lolol well you do know that at 5800rpms the secondary runners open up. i never driven a stock GS-R, only one wiht an intake and exhaust. so this, and the VTEC crossover is much more pronounced. so this "boost" sound could be from the engine sucking air in through the shorter runners.

damn GS-R's i want one, but hopefull i'll have an LS-T by the end of summer.
