LOL, find another shop, the engine "dying" has absolutely nothing to do with the "chassis cradle"

Need more info on when engine is dying, is it after engine warms up or is it random?

Does it just stop running, [like turning of the ign.] or do you loose power gradually?

Can you restart the engine after it has stalled, if not how long after it quits is it befor you can restart the engine?

Have you checked fuel pressure?

When engine has died, can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn on the ign. switch to run, [not start]? 94

yeah^^ thats exactly what ive been telling my parents... i dropped my car off there 2 weeks ago and for 2 weeks they were saying "we cant figure out whats the issue is"

but anyways... my car started dying while driving like loosing power and stalling, i thought it was the battery cables so i replaced them and still no luck.. the car would not start after dying for like 30 mins it seems like it was over heating but my temp was down...the car wants to start but it wont turn over.. no weird noises or anything sounds normal but it wont turn over

My kids have a 89-90 Civic Si. It started doing this.. I searched around and it sounded like the ignitor (it uses transistors to switch the high-current part of the ignition). It's located near the firewall in the corner of the engine compartment, driver's corner. I swapped it and no problems since.

Same thing - works fine cold, stalls when it gets warm, won't start until it cools off..

Good luck

is the car dying when driving at speed over 20mph or lower or at a stop? If it is at lower speed and idling you might want to look into replacing the fuel filter, and get a bottle of injector cleaner next time you fill up to ensure gas is getting to the engine.

So what does the shop say is wrong, have they checked for spark/fuel/compression and timing or are they just chucking parts at it?

Have you checked for the basics? 94

it was some wires behind the dash shorting out
it was a 160$ fix but my car runs perfect now
