I've clean my iacv helped for 100 miles, clean it again nothing. Check voltage and found relay gave out. Bought a new one it didn't work. Checked all grounds wires and and power to the iacv all good. Well I installed my new iacv in my friends car(b18c) and it worked good, but not on mine still surges. So I bought another one and it worked for a little over 200 miles I just dont understand why they keep going out and not working on my engine(b18c) what else can relate to the iacv other than the fitv my engine came from an automatic sir-g from japan with really low miles or should I replace my fitv again, and yes I have had by pass it and it worked for about 1 hr. Someone that had a similar problem direct me to the right solution. And yes I've taken my car into the stealership...

I cleaned the iacv and it works great now. I just need a new valve seal. There is oil in the spark plugs.

Get a can of throttle body cleaner from your local parts store and remove the hose that goes between the air filter and the throttle body. Have someone start the car and keep giving it gas or the engine will die. Spray at least half of the can of cleaner in the throttle body to clean the plate right inside. Also you will see a hole inside there spray cleaner into the hole also this hole allows the air to bypass the throttle plate and go to the idle control motor to keep your car idling at the rpm it is supposed to. If gunk gets built up in the idle control motor it will stick and cause the condition you described. Once the valve becomes unstuck it travels further than it should because the computer
is trying to get the engine air so it does not stall. Clean this all up like this and it should cure your problem.

Are you sure you followed the steps right? Check for any vacuum leaks and make sure you bleed the coolant.

is this accurate for a 04 honda accord 4 cylinder?? my car has been shaking on start up and i can't find any place for an accord iacv cleaning/repairing....

how much would shops usually charge for this procedure? i rather do it myself because i lack the funds and i don't know if it will solve the problem but i don't want my car to get worst.

help?

Reasons why you should take it apart and clean it:
-High idle after your car warms up
-Lumpy idle
-Roaming idle
-Hunting idle
-Fluctuating idle

my cars idle dips pretty low when i come to a stop, or when the ac is on..you think cleaning this would help? also do i neeed to bleed the cooling system after i do this, or could i jus top off the coolant?

Now your ready to re-install it back on the car so follow the steps backwards from 5 – 2

by removing iacv, coolant comes out..do i need to bleed cooling system?

yea i have a problem my car wouldnt start up correct. like it would start but the idle would be real low then die. so i started it again and i revved it to stay up and it did but my idle kept jumping around so i keep it steady to rose my idle and when it reached a certain rpm it would just keep kicking back down. i had this problem before when i was driving so i had to pull over and towed it home and had the iac changed out and it worked. but im wondering if its just clogged with gunk but not sure cuz my engine light came on too. is this my problem or is it something else? if i cleaned it will my engline light turn off?

I had an integra LS (non-vtec) ecu that ran the engine fine, but threw like 4 different CEL codes and also made the rpm's wander sometimes.

NOW, I installed the sotck DX ecu p2e, and I only have ONE CEL, code 14 IACV.

took IACV off and cleaned it out, but it is still throwing the code.

The motor actually ran and idled somewhat normal with the integra LS ecu. But NOW when I start the car, it wont idle AT ALL, it IMMEDIATELY dies unless I give it gas.

If I give it gas, the rpm's fluctuate between 1500-2500 up and down like it is in limbo.

I AM able to rev past that, it's just pointless because the car dies when the rpm's drop back down..

d16y7 block
p24-5 head (?)
appears to be a y8 intake manifold, the throttle body is on the side instead of the usual DX vertical TB.

Help?
MINE SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE THIS ONE. start up my and it dies. i start it up agian and i give it gas to keep idle up and it just keeps jumping around so i rev it up higher but it will only go up to a certain rpm then kicks back down and i go up again and kicks back down it keeps kicking my idle down.
